Super Star Wars is a blast to play, and one of the best games available on the Playstation Network in my opinion. And its priced at $9.99 which is an absolute steal, especially if you're a Star Wars fan. But let's face it, this is an old-school game that features some of the most punishing gameplay ever to be found on the Super Nintendo. But don't let that scare you off, there's an easy way to acquire 99 lives early on. And trust me, you're gonna need every single one if you want to beat the game, especially since extra lives are hard to come by and the game only offers a single opportunity to continue once those are used up.
The video below is from the game's seventh chapter which is titled "Land of the Sandpeople", a level that features two separate canyons that you must carefully platform Luke Skywalker across all while an endless stream of mynocks dive-bomb you from above. When you get to the second canyon, instead of platforming across simply walk off the edge and immediately press left on the stick. Luke will fall a bit, but eventually land on an outcropping that leads to a secret cave full of extra lives. Simply shoot the ceiling to make the 1UPs appear and avoid the boulders that are falling from the ceiling to collect them. It's simple, check it out!
Like most games of the SNES era the maximum number of lives you can have is 99, so just keep farming lives and jumping to your doom until you reach the max. The canyon is a nightmare to get across, so if you lose a life or two (you definitely will) while crossing you can just repeat this trick again since Luke always respawns at the start of the canyon!
